Charles Dickens was perhaps the most
famous author between the 1800s and 1900’s. Some of the other most prominent
authors were the Bronte sisters, Alfred Tension, George Bernard Shaw, W.B.
Yeats, and Oscar Wilde. Victorian novels
tend to be about right and wrong, luck vs. fate, and moral lessons and heart.
They often discuss issues of morality and explore the issues of right and
wrong. They are typically about people who struggle a lot and have difficult
life circumstances. Victorianism relates to The Importance of Being Earnest
through mocking Victorianism culture. Also there is influence from Victorian
novels in The Return of the Native in the prevalent theme of luck vs. fate.
